I am honored to be in Professor Gemma Puglisi’s Community Based Learning Public Relations Portfolio Class working with my peers to honor the late Steve Cammarota through a variety of events, partnerships and targeted outreach. I am working on the Events/Volunteer Day/Blood Drive Team with Jolene Levesque, Elizabeth Edwards, Abby Bacardi, Halle Howard, and Caroline Rinker.

We have our first event coming up on February 12 which we designed to fit in line with the love that is encapsulated by Valentine’s Day. Instead of focusing solely on love you may find in a romantic relationship we have broadened our vision of love to include self-love, love for your community, love for your family and love for your loved-ones. We will table in two freshman residential halls and have students reflect on which love category they would like to be more mindful about. We will ask that they share their reason why on a piece of paper and drop it into the homemade “Valentine box” that we have made for each category. We hope to not only spread the word about the Do Better Campaign but also champion people to practice doing better for themselves and others all while honoring Steve.
